“Gee that’s a great picture, you must have a really expensive camera!” – Here’s the list

Well for all of  that are curious about the gear that I use to create my pictures I’m going to give you an idea of what I’m using.

I don’t like cheap gear. Having very little money to invest in gear I have always been very careful to invest in camera gear that will last me a long time and function its task to my standards so when I finally make a purchase it need to be bullet proof.

The first thing that I can say that you don’t have to have a super expensive camera to achieve great pictures, you need competent equipment and a good eye. I rarely buy new. However that is changing due to the digital revolution. I used to stick to the mandate of upgrading my digital equipment when the current camera can be replaced by a camera that has doubled in megapixels. However the Fuji line of cameras came on to the market and so far the X-E1 at 16.3 megapixels has not had me wanting for more. I feel that I will never need to upgrade any of my current film equipment  because when I need an upgrade I can simple try a different film. Recently I have shot Portra 400, Portra 160, Pan-f, Tri-X,  and Ektar 100 in my Bronica ETRsi and Ziess Super Ikonata.
